The Columbia Gorge Peace Calendar 2003

STONEHENGE - WWWI Veterans Memorial, Maryhill Washington Located in Washington near Maryhill Museum on the bluffs overlooking the Columbia River. Built in the 1920's by Sam Hill, this structure is a life-size replica of the one in England and was built as a memorial to Klickitat County veterans who died in World War I. A memorial to Klickitat County veterans killed in more recent wars stands in an adjacent area. Photos by Susan Buce, copyright © 2003
