Communities of
Hood
River and Wasco counties
There are two communities of Pine Grove, both unincorporated, in the Columbia
Gorge region.
One Pine Grove is located on Highway 35 in Hood River County,
where fruit growing is the major local industry. A key local attraction is Rasmussen
Farms, which hosts a "Pumpkin Funland" each Halloween. (The location
is 3020 Thomsen Road, off Highway 35.) The other Pine Grove is located
in southern Wasco County, on Highway 216 west of Wapinitia and Maupin.
Logging, ranching and recreation are the key local industries. Wasco County's
Pine Grove is located immediately north of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation
and east of the Mt. Hood National Forest. An important nearby attraction is
